About the event

BBOWT's aim is to empower more local groups to take action for nature on their patch. At this interactive session we will help you develop your skills and confidence in identifying plants. 

This workshop will cover:

  • Importance of plants
  • Plant morphology - flowers, leaves, and stems
  • Plant nomenclature
  • Family characteristics
  • Specimen identification activities
  • Basic site surveying
  • Field identification activities

If you have limited or restricted mobility, please contact the event organiser and we can make arrangements. 

What to bring

Unless weather is really bad, we will be outside for some of the session and may go on a lunch time wander so bring weather-appropriate clothing.

Refreshments (teas, coffees, biscuits & fruit) will be provided, please let organiser know of any dietary requirements before the session.
