We are delighted that you are part of BBOWT’s Legacy Society and we have some really special events for you in 2024 - BBOWT’s 65th anniversary year! We warmly invite you to join us and celebrate at the following events.
Thursday 11 July 2024, An evening with Isabella Tree ‘Rewilding our way to 30 by 30’, Oxford University Museum of Natural History, 7pm–9.30pm, in partnership with Ascot Lloyd
Join us to listen to award-winning author and journalist Isabella Tree as she contemplates how the UK is going it meet its COP15 commitment made in Montreal in 2022 to achieve 30% of land functioning for nature by 2030 and discusses her latest book, The Book of Wilding: A Practical Guide to Rewilding, Big and Small (Bloomsbury, 2023). The book details Isabella’s and her husband Charlie Burrell’s experimental journey to rewild 3,500 acres of degraded farmland at Knepp in West Sussex, demonstrating how nature can bounce back, if we let it. This fascinating book explains how the lessons they’ve learnt at Knepp can be rolled out across the landscape, from biodiversity hotspots to wildlife corridors, from gardens to window boxes, creating a rewilding network that can become our nation’s life-support system and meet our 30% by 2030 commitment. This evening event is being held in partnership with Ascot Lloyd and will include drinks and canapes served within the main Museum Court, amongst the Dinosaurs!
