About the event
BBOWT's 5 dedicated learning centres work with hundreds of children every year. All age groups attend sessions to receive hands on experience and fun learning opportunities.
BBOWT learning officer Grace Rawlinson will talk us through the different strategies employed for different ages; from Nature Tots activities for pre-schoolers; to primary age curriculum activities; to A-level field trip experiences; to out-of-school fun sessions with Young Rangers and Teen Rangers. Grace will also talk about why nature connectedness goes hand in hand with learning about the natural world and why our feelings are just as important as our knowledge.
Volunteers in local community groups and volunteers at BBOWT centres, as well as organisations in the sector, are invited to attend this skill-sharing session to learn more about BBOWT's work with young people and to share their own experiences. The aim of the session is to provide insight and inspiration which will support community groups and individuals to engage with their own local young people. There will be opportunity to ask questions and share ideas during the session.
Together let's inspire our next generation to love, protect and restore nature.
