About the event

Join us for an evening of moth trapping at Parsonage Moor and Dry Sandford Pit, searching for the Scarce Burnished Brass moth and other wetland specialists. . Limited parking is available in the Dry Sandford Pit car park.

We will have butterfly nets and viewing ‘pots’ to allow participants a better view of the moths we find. Towards midnight, we will open the trap(s) to explore any moths that entered them.

Depending on the weather there may be midges so you may want to use insect repellent and wear long sleeves and trousers.

Some of the footpaths are uneven so please wear sturdy shoes and bring a torch (a head torch is ideal).

This event will only take place in good weather. If rain is forecast, please call our leader, Peter Philp on 07434 652770 to check that it is going ahead.

This is a free event but please consider a donation to BBOWT or Butterfly Conservation.
