Bats for beginners Talk and Night Walk - Woolley Firs, Maidenhead, Tuesday 9 September
About the event
Ever wanted to learn more about these amazing nocturnal creatures? Well now is your chance!
This course is aimed at beginners who are new to bats and would like to learn more about bat identification. The evening comprises of an hour's informative talk, leading on to an evening guided bat walk around our private pond garden, woodland and meadow. Specialist equipment instruction will be provided, so all you need to do is come suitably dressed for the evening's weather with sturdy walking shoes and ideally bring a torch. There will also be the opportunity to find out how to get more involved with bat conservation, both locally and nationally, if you wanted to.
Classroom:
- Introduction to British bat species
- Introduction to bat detectors
- How to get involved with bat conservation - locally and nationally
Outdoor session:
- Guided bat walk using bat detectors
- Basic intro to local bats and tips on identification
- Identifying a good bat walk route
- Health and safety tips
This session is for adults only.
