About the event

Want to get into birdwatching? Join our volunteer guides to find out what’s on the reserve this time of year and where best to spot it!

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear

Our trampers/mobility scooter are available and suitable for the walking route but they do need to be booked in advance and if you have not used them at our site before a training session is required - please email collegelake@bbowt.org.uk for more information from our visitor centre team. You will need to be able to walk short distances without the tramper to reach some of our hides.

Please be aware:

  • Please arrive on time at the Visitor Centre where we will start our walk. The session lasts 2hrs and involves gentle walking around the site with stopping points at hides along the way.
  • This activity takes place outdoors and we recommend appropriate clothing for all weathers.

Please read:

  • If you or a member of your household are feeling unwell on the day of the event, please do not attend.
  • Booking can either be done via website or if on the day – in person (providing there is space)
  • Photography consent - BBOWT sometimes take photos/videos for marketing purposes used in the public domain. Please contact us if you do not consent.

Will you help answer nature's SOS call by adding a £5 gift to this booking? You'll help BBOWT bring nature back across our three counties. Please select a donation ticket option if you wish to donate. You can find out more about our Nature Recovery Fund here.

Mobility

Our hides are not suitable for trampers and some of the paths down them are steep so we recommend you are able to walk unassisted. However trampers are available for hire if you contact the VC separately, collegelake@bbbowt.org.uk, this may help someone with limitations on how far they can walk.
