About the event

Clayfield Copse includes ancient woodlands, secondary woodlands, woodland regeneration areas, and flowering meadows. Walk around the site on your own on Meadows Day or join one of our guided walks at 11.00 for adults or 11.30 for families with small children to learn more about this beautiful site, the species to be seen here, and how it is managed.

There will be a selection of advice and sales stalls on site. BBOWT, Econet, the Bat Group, beekeepers, and Reading and District Natural History Society will all be there offering knowledge and advice. Learn how to monitor for pollinators and butterflies this summer with BBOWT, find out how to help conserve your local wildlife sites with Econet, sign up for a bat walk this June or consider becoming a bee-keeper. Produce stalls include plants and local honey and, depending on the weather, we may have live bats and slow-worms for a close-up visit.
