Position:

The Landscape Recovery Lead will play a pivotal role in supporting BBOWT’s new strategic goal to ‘Put Nature into Recovery’, through designing and delivering new projects and partnerships at landscape-scale across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

BBOWT’s conservation efforts go beyond managing small and isolated nature reserves, and this role will concentrate on landscapes where habitats can be created, species connectivity can be improved, and functioning ecosystems can be restored. These landscapes will support nature’s recovery, connect people with nature, and will empower local communities to act for nature.

With a focus on BBOWT’s Living Landscapes and new focal landscapes within our Nature Recovery Network, you will scope opportunities for new projects and partnerships. Working closely with the support of other BBOWT staff and in collaboration with external partners, you will lead the development of applications to fund new projects and partnerships, and will oversee and manage new project delivery staff recruited to deliver these initiatives.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have an environmental background, with an up-to-date working knowledge of environmental policy and practice driving the urgent need to put nature into recovery. Experience in project management and partnership working is essential, as this role will be expected to work closely with stakeholders across sectors within key landscapes.
