About the event

Following on from our talk in June, Veritie from the North Bucks Bat group is back to take you out on an explore of College Lake after Dark. She’ll teach you how to use bat detectors and you’ll join her on a walk around the lake to see what local species you can find.

Please arrive promptly so we can get our walk started on time. 18:15 drop off for an 18:30 start. Pick up from 20:15.

Staff and volunteer led session so teen rangers do not need to be accompanied by an adult. We would ask where possible that parents drop off and then return for pick up. If this is not an option, please be aware that the site will not be open to the public so you will have to wait in your vehicles in the carpark.

Please note this session takes place after hours and gates will not be open before 18:00.  Gates will reopen from 20:00 for collection.

Terms & Conditions:

If you or a member of your household is feeling unwell or showing any flu like symptoms, please do not attend the session.

What to bring

Please wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions. We will be out after dark so warm layers (long sleeves and trousers) are recommended.

As the ground may be uneven in places, please wear sensible, sturdy footwear.

If you have one, please bring a torch as this may be needed to walk back to the carpark at the end of the session.

Please note: If the weather is due to be very wet and/or windy, this event will be cancelled as we are extremely unlikely to see anything. This decision will be made as far in advance as possible.
