Community-led guided nature walk - Thurs 12 June, Newbury
About the event
Come and learn about what a community in Newbury has done on their patch. The community members, joined by a conservation expert, will lead us around their local green spaces, explaining their work and the challenges they've overcome.
We will be walking around part of the Newbury Nature Corridor, a project to create and link spaces for nature in the suburban environment, run by Newbury Friends of the Earth. The group is working with local schools, scout groups and the council to install ponds, bird boxes etc and to encourage residents to introduce areas for nature in their gardens. Lessons learned here can be relevant in other towns and villages.
There will be time to chat with other attendees about what their groups are doing for nature, and to share learning throughout our evening together, so please join us.
The Community Network aims to inspire people to take action for nature, by showcasing the amazing work that local people are already doing.
**This project has been made possible by funding from the National Lottery Community Fund**
