About the event

Join a small group on our beautiful nature reserve for a day of wild weaving. Learn how to select, harvest and prepare the best stems then weave your own unique wild basket to take home. This course is suitable for beginners and intermediates. Please be aware that harvesting brambles involves negotiating uneven ground and prickly, tangled bushes.

All participants will be required to use an alcohol sanitising hand gel or wash their hands with soap and water on arrival.

During the session you may be asked to social distance from others at a distance of 2m in line with public health advice. It is your responsibility to be aware of your proximity to others.

What to bring

This session will be outdoors so please come dressed for the weather. Tea and coffee will be provided, please bring your own cup if possible, and don't forget your packed lunch! All materials and tools will be provided but if you have a pocket knife and/or favourite pair of secateurs please bring those along, as well as a thick pair of gardening/work gloves if you have them. Brambles are prickly (!) and weaving requires some strength in the hands and can be hard on the skin, some participants like to bring handcream.
