About the event
What do animals do in winter?
They get hungry and cold just like us!
Join us to learn about winter and what is happening around the reserve.
Our engagement and activities team will support you to complete a range of self-led cross-curricular activities dotted around the nature reserve.
Don't forget to sign up for the owl pellet dissection workshops when you arrive - as they take place at specific times with a limit on numbers able to attend each session.
Using tweezers and magnifiers, your child will carefully extract the bony contents of a real owl pellet and learn about the owl's diet and behaviour first hand. Sign up for a timed workshop on arrival.
Most activities will be outdoors - please come dressed for the weather. (Pellet workshop will be inside.)
There will be a quiet reading and sensory tray space indoors as well.
Our shop and cafe will be open for food, drinks and interesting souvenirs.
The day is suitable for children aged 4 to 11 years with an accompanying adult (it's ok to bring younger siblings along so long as you can still support your older child with the activities).
