Night Safari - College Lake, Saturday 22nd August
College Lake Nature Reserve,
Upper Icknield Way, Bulbourne, Tring, Buckinghamshire, HP23 5QG
About the event
Who knows what you might see or hear exploring the reserve after dark? Learn to use bat detectors to hear bats hunting overhead, use lamps to discover what’s hiding in our ponds and have a look inside the moth trap to find out how we monitor and survey these amazing insects!
This event will take the form of a led walk, stopping to look for different animals as we move around the various habitats on the reserve. This event is suitable for beginners including families with children aged 8 years and over. Please ensure you purchase a ticket for each member of your group attending.
Please be aware:
- Please arrive at 8:45pm when our gates will open for a 9.00pm start at the Visitor Centre where we will start our walk.
- If you have a torch, we recommend bringing one but have some to use here as well.
- The session lasts 2hrs and involves a gentle walk around part of the site including small areas of woodland, steep slopes and uneven ground - meaning it is not suitable for the use of trampers or other mobility scooters.
- This activity takes place outdoors and we recommend appropriate clothing for all weathers.
