About the event

Trees are so amazing! We see them every day, but do we stop to think about them? Join us for an action packed day learning how to identify different tree species, measuring their size and age, discovering the creatures that live in, on and under them, creating tree art, planting your own tree to take home, and learning why trees matter to us all more than ever. Listen to tree tales in our interactive story telling session, and join one of our learning team to go tree beating for minitbeasts. Our quiet reading and sensory tray space will be open in the classroom too.

This event is suitable for children aged 4-11 years with an accompanying adult. There will be a range of activities from across the curriculum, and a lovely chance to meet other local home educating families in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Most activities will be outdoors - please come dressed for the weather.  Bring a picnic to enjoy at the picnic benches. Hot drinks and squash provided, small cash donation appreciated.

The day is suitable for children aged 4 to 11 years with an accompanying adult (it's ok to bring younger siblings along, so long as you can still support your older child with the activities). We run home-educators days on a bi-monthly basis, keep an eye on the website for more dates or ask to join our mailing list. Please share this event with your home educating community!

Please note the centre is accessible by public transport with regular buses (including connection to Didcot Parkway railway station) serving Milton Park, a few minutes walk from the centre.
