About the event

Beetles are everywhere, and they are so amazing! Flower beetles, water beetles, soldier beetles, dung beetles.... did you know that about 1/4 of ALL species on earth are beetles? Come discover the exciting world of beetles on a fun summer holiday trail around the lovely nature reserve at Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre. Collect your trail sheet at the gate and head off to explore, finding fascinating facts along the way and learning what YOU can do to keep the beetles happy. You can even make a smelly beetle to take home! With woodland, meadows and a stream there is lots of space to play and picnic too, bring a packed lunch and make a day of it. Hot drinks and squash available for a small cash donation. Suitable for families with children aged 4 to 11 years. Please buy a ticket for all children aged 4-11 years (younger siblings may also attend and do not need a ticket, accompanying adult does not need a ticket). All children must be accompanied by an adult. The event runs from 10am-2pm, please book your ticket online (places limited!) and arrive at a time that suits you within that window, last entry 1pm.

Please note the centre is accessible by public transport with regular buses (including connection to Didcot Parkway railway station) serving Milton Park, a few minutes walk from the centre.

We are committed to keeping our visitors, staff and volunteers safe. Please DO NOT attend if you or your child are unwell, or testing positive for an infectious illness, such as COVID-19. Your consideration is hugely appreciated.
