Children Stream Dipping by Gill Marshall
Home Educators' Day: Habitats with Stream Dipping - Sutton Courtenay, Tuesday 16 September
About the event
Here on the nature reserve there are lots of different habitats, each sheltering different plants and animals. Come discover the things a habitat must provide for plants and animals to survive, learn who lives where and make a bird feeder to help improve your garden habitat for birds. Sign up for a stream dipping session when you arrive, led by one of our expert learning team. PLEASE BRING YOUR WELLIES so you can wade into the stream during the workshop (water levels permitting).
Most activities will be outdoors - please come dressed for the weather. Our quiet reading and sensory tray space will be open in the classroom too. Bring a picnic to enjoy at the picnic benches. Hot drinks and squash provided.
The day is suitable for children aged 4 to 11 years with an accompanying adult (it's ok to bring younger siblings along so long as you can still support your older child with the activities). We run home-educators days on a bimonthly basis, keep an eye on the website for more dates or ask to join our mailing list.
Please note the centre is accessible by public transport with regular buses (including connection to Didcot Parkway railway station) serving Milton Park, a few minutes walk from the centre.
We are committed to keeping our visitors, staff and volunteers safe. Please DO NOT attend if you or your child are unwell, or testing positive for an infectious illness, such as COVID-19. Your consideration is hugely appreciated.
