About the event

Teen Rangers meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month from 18:00 to 20:00 at Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre. Over the winter we switch to Saturday mornings.

Our focus is on bushcraft skills, practical conservation and wildlife surveys. By joining the club you can gain skills in using tools to complete valuable habitat management work, meet other young people who are interested in wildlife and learn from experienced conservationists. Teen Rangers can suggest activities they would like to take part in as well as getting the opportunity to experience events and other community activities.

This is a closed club which is currently full. If you are interested in joining, please contact Charley (details below) to go on the waiting list.

Additional booking information

Please complete a handover of your child/ren with the session leader at the map outside the Nature Discovery Centre at the start and end of each session - this is for their safety.

Please dress for the weather and bring waterproofs. Long trousers are recommended whatever the weather due to the presence of dense patches of stinging nettles. Wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty – wellies are advisable for winter.

We will provide a drink and snack, often cooked on a campfire.
