About the event

Martin Woolner, local naturalist, will introduce the wonders of plant galls.

Oak apples, Robin's pin cushions, Witches' brooms … are all found around Berkshire along with hundreds of others, each specific to their host plant. They are parasites offering no benefit to the plant, but generally doing no harm either, and have been collected through the ages for a variety of uses such as ink (the Magna Carta was written in oak gall ink) and for medicine

This is a joint talk between Reading and District Natural History Society and BBOWT. Contact RDNHSzoom@outlook.com for a free link to the talk. it won't be sent until the beginning of March.
