About the event

Clayfield Copse includes ancient woodlands, secondary woodlands, regeneration areas and flowering meadows. Walk around the site on your own on Meadows Day or join one of our guided walks at 11.30am for adults and older children or 12.30pm for a shorter walk for families with young children.

There will be a selection of sales and advice stalls on site. BBOWT, Econet, the Bat group, Beekeepers, Reading and District Natural History Society and the True Food Coop will all be there offering knowledge, advice and things to do including meeting a slow-worm or bat!

Sales stalls include plants, bowls turned from local wood, and bric-a-brac.

What to bring

Please consider bringing insect repellant, sunscreen, and strong shoes. We recommend wearing trousers tucked into socks as a preventative against ticks, or stick to open paths.

There are no public toilets at the site and no water available to top-up bottles. Please remember your own water if it is a hot day.
