About the event

Autumn is a wonderful season to be outside. Come explore the changing colours, make giant artworks, map the sounds of nature, create a wild alphabet, spot the birds fattening up for winter and much more.

Join our learning team to make some sparks, trying your hand at starting a fire safely in the great outdoors - sign up for a time slot when you arrive. Do you know any campfire songs? You'll be rewarded with a tasty toasted marshmallow! (Marshmallows provided, including free from options.) Our quiet reading and sensory tray space will be open in the classroom too.

This event is suitable for children aged 4-11 years with an accompanying adult. There will be a range of activities from across the curriculum, and a lovely chance to meet other local home educating families in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Most activities will be outdoors - please come dressed for the weather.  Bring a picnic to enjoy at the picnic benches. Hot drinks and squash provided, small cash donation appreciated.

The day is suitable for children aged 4 to 11 years with an accompanying adult (it's ok to bring younger siblings along, so long as you can still support your older child with the activities). We run home-educators days on a bi-monthly basis, keep an eye on the website for more dates or ask to join our mailing list. Please share this event with your home educating community!

Please note the centre is accessible by public transport with regular buses (including connection to Didcot Parkway railway station) serving Milton Park, a few minutes walk from the centre.
