Few things can beat a family day out in the wild, where you can see everything from creepy crawlies to beautiful butterflies.

College Lake

Why go?

Fantastic views of the lake, lots to see and do and family friendly footpaths all around the lake.

What to do

Explore the Outlook Inn, College Lake’s hands-on naturalist’s hut where the most important rule is "Please DO Touch!".

Visit the bee centre, which is packed with information about our fuzzy friends. 

See if you can find the Warden's Wood secret trail - a hidden route for children to explore.

Visitor centre packed full of interactive wildlife and natural history displays as well as family friendly footpaths.

Try the Nature Discovery Trail! Scan QR codes along the way for fun facts and quiz questions.

Run, climb and jump in our Adventure Playground.

Feed our friendly waterfowl with the duck food available from the visitor centre.

Why go?

With a visitor centre, bird hides, picnic area and resident warden to help with queries, Warburg is a great place to bring your family.

Why go?

If you're very quiet, you may catch a glimpse of one of our reptiles - a common lizard, or an adder basking in the sun. Look out for the round-leaved sundew.

This tranquil woodland and large pond used to belong to celebrated author CS Lewis.

What to do

See if you can find the large boulders known as 'sandstone doggers' on slopes in the trees.
