BBOWT Head Office, The Lodge, 1 Armstrong Road, Littlemore, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX4 4XT
Visitor Centre Officer
We are looking for a Visitor Centre Officer to drive forward the visitor experience at College Lake. We are looking for a dynamic individual who can work with colleagues across the teams based at College Lake and provide the best possible visitor experience.
Situated just outside Tring, College Lake is a thriving nature reserve that supports more than 1,000 different wildlife species. Our visitor centre has stunning views across the lake which is known as one of the best places in Buckinghamshire for water birds.
We run both a shop and café from the visitor centre as well as hosting educational events and exhibitions. While maintaining a reserve that benefits nature, we seek footfall to our visitor centre in order to generate the income that supports our wider work. We are looking for someone who truly understands BBOWTs mission, who can bring the creativity and business sense needed to translate ideas into action.
This is a varied role that will involve working across our back office, events, shop and café functions. We are looking for a flexible candidate that has excellent communication skills, buckets of enthusiasm and a real attention to detail. An excellent knowledge of trading and experience of putting on professional events is desirable.
The Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust is a membership-based voluntary organisation, managing over 80 nature reserves, influencing land management and educating and encouraging all sectors of the community to care for local wildlife.
