#ThanksToYou. On Monday 11 December the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust welcomes National Lottery players to the wonderful College Lake nature reserve for a special guided walk and complementary cream tea.

College Lake nature reserve is one of 350 participating National Lottery-funded visitor attractions across the UK in saying ‘thank you’ to people who have raised money for good causes by buying a National Lottery ticket.

Recently College Lake received a £74,100 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for the amazing Earth Explorers project. This uses exciting, innovative and interactive displays in the Geology Rocks and Farming and Wildlife exhibitions to showcase the site’s geology and natural heritage.

The Heritage Lottery Fund has helped fund over £185M for Wildlife Trusts which has enabled 625 projects to take place across 46 Trusts, including the development of the College Lake Visitor Centre and the Earth Explorers project.

BBOWT has been able to see first-hand what a huge impact support from the Heritage Lottery Fund can have, and why it is beneficial to buy a National Lottery ticket. Come along on Monday 11 December and see what a difference you've made by buying a National Lottery ticket. Free event but booking essential.

Ros Kerslake, Chief Executive of the Heritage Lottery Fund, said: “December is a wonderful time to experience the UK’s rich, diverse and exciting heritage, which has been transformed by more than £7bn National Lottery funding since 1994. This is a small gesture of thanks and a way of giving something back to the people who buy tickets.”
