    The Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust is thrilled to announce it has bagged £12,000 from a Tesco funding scheme. Thanks to thousands of shoppers voting in Tesco stores across West Berkshire, the Discovering Nature Together project at the Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham will go ahead next year.

    The Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust is extremely disappointed by the Government’s rejection of findings in a Natural England report that reviews HS2 Ltd’s approach to wildlife. The report, which was published on 9 November, was prepared in response to complaints raised by the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust and other conservation organisations at House of Commons Select Committee hearings.

    Tom Beckett, Director of External Affairs at BBOWT, met with Chesham & Amersham MP Cheryl Gillan recently to discuss the lack of protection for important wildlife-rich grasslands, which leaves them vulnerable to development. As a result Mrs Gillan asked a written question of the Secretary of State for the Dept. of Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra).
