Are you aged 14 - 18? Do you live in Buckinghamshire or Hertfordshire? Then come and join our Wild Trax event! Try your hand at a range of practical conservation work. Join our reserves officer and carryout some important conservation work round the beautiful nature reserve College Lake, which could be habitat management, path maintenance, painting bird hides – whatever is essential at the time. All training and tools will be provided. Join our Reserves Team and get a taste for how to identify & survey for wild bees and butterflies at the beautiful nature reserve Aldbury Nowers. You’ll learn where to look and what to look for, as well as some basics of identification for these two vast, important, and declining insect groups. Please wear walking boots or trainers and clothes you don't mind getting a bit wet or dirty.

Unfortunately we have had to cancel this event, but will be running it again in October. Check back soon!

Please wear walking boots or trainers and clothes you don't mind getting a bit wet or dirty. The event is for teens only - no accompanying adults please. Booking is essential & all participants will need to have a completed parent/guardian consent form to take part in the event. The form is attached to this event page.

Come along to meet some experts and learn some new & different skills. You’ll then have the opportunity of joining Wild Trax to put your talents to the test and design and carryout a project of your own (in groups or individually) with our support. The subject of the project is up to you as long as it’s based in Tring or Aylesbury and benefits nature in some way.

We know that your time is very important so we will award you for your time spent helping nature volunteering at our taster sessions and carrying out your project. The award is a helpful way to show off how great you are to universities and future employers, especially if you’re interested in working with the natural world.

Wild Trax is a new and exciting youth project run in partnership by Berks, Bucks, Oxon Wildlife Trust, Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust and the Natural History Museum at Tring and is supported by the Rothschild Foundation.

When 'none available' is shown above, the event/time slot/ticket type is fully booked.

From time to time BBOWT will send you information about how we are helping local willdife via email, mail or by phone. If you do not wish to be contacted in future please let BBOWT know.
