Have you ever wondered what hands on practical conservation work is about? If you are between 12 and 16 years old, come along and join the Teen Rangers group for a taster session. During this 3 hour session we will be using tools to do a couple of woodland maintenance tasks. These are coppice stool layering, which involves partially cutting through hazel shoots and bending and staking them to grow into a new shoot. And also building protective structures round young hazel shoots to prevent deer nibbling them. We will stop for lunch, so bring food and plenty of drink with you. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy boots.
