Take a walk in the foot steps of the Tudor Botanists with Friends of Lye Valley Chair, Dr. Judy Webb. Come and join us for a fascinating look at the rare plants and habitats of the Lye Valley in Headington. Find out more about the essential work being carried out by The Friends of Lye Valley and The Wild Oxford Project.

 

The event is suitable for families and individuals interested in Oxford's Natural History

Please bring sturdy waterproof walking boots

Please bring wet weather gear if it is raining.

There is no age limit but children under 16 must be accompanied by adults.

Access details:

There is limited parking on Barracks Lane but we would prefer people to use public transport where possible.

The terrain is wet and boggy in places and there are some up hill walking. The walk is about 2 miles long.

 

Please respect the Lye Valley and keep to the paths and boardwalks.

Venue location

Please meet on Barracks Lane, 0X4 2AP which is located off Holloway in Headington. We will then walk across Cowley Marsh and Southfield Golf Course to The Lye Valley. The walk ends at The Slade entrance to Lye Valley so please plan in you return journey if you come by car. There are buses directly to Oxford Train Station from The Slade.
