To protect, expand and enhance this unique and diverse landscape; creating an environment richer in wildlife.
Project Area
The West Berkshire Living Landscape project is on the edge of Newbury and Thatcham and includes Greenham Common, Thatcham Reedbeds and BBOWT’s Bowdown Woods Nature Reserve.
The project area covers more than 27 square kilometres of lowland heathland, ancient woodland, reedbeds, rivers and streams. It is a mosaic of land rich with history and wildlfe. Click map to enlarge

Wildlife There are many rare and important species in the area. The project will focus on species including:
